After a lot of chopping and changing I have finally settled on my Aim's and Objectives. I am sure they might evolve slightly the further I progress through the module but I think this is a pretty fair chose for where I am at right now. It is certainly an interest of mine and it will definitely help me progress in my work, both of which I think are important as its a pretty involved part of the course that will take a lot of focus.
Below is a statement setting out my aims and objectives, it was initially criticised by other students as being "too short", this might be the case but I feel it is direct and to the point. I did previously has lots of questions I wanted to answer with lots of information about the methods and paradigms but it seemed unnecessary and ultimately something that would hinder my researching process rather than giving me lots of results.
"My Project aim is to discover how oil paintings from history influence modern day artwork within advertising. Using the paradigms in from the final chapter of, John Bergers ‘Ways of Seeing’, I will take a deductive and qualitative approach as well as applying a post modern view to my research. This should help me to achieve my objective of developing and evaluating my own art work so that it has a much stronger foundation in all subject areas. By taking a practice lead methodology I hope to better understand the semiotics and ethics required within advertising artwork and ultimately to see if images are still influenced in the same way in a dynamically changed world from the 1970’s."
This more than anything else is what I am going to keep in mind so that I don't get distracted away from the point...
